This plot-based tree inventory was conducted by graduate students at the University of North Carolina at Asheville in June of 2026. The study area is a university urban forest property situated in the City of Asheville. The minimum parameters required for ecosystem services calculations (species, DBH, tree cover) were collected. Metal d-tape was used to collect DBH measurements and a densiometer was used to estimate tree canopy cover at plot centers. 60 Plot centers were previously established in the study area in 2021 by Jordan Luff, a Management Forester formerly with the NC Forest Service, using Plot Hound (Keller 2022). 30 of the plot centers were sampled in the present study.
